GOLDEN PAPER
As global awareness of environmental protection continues to grow, consumers are becoming more conscious about the materials used in product packaging. According to the latest report from the environmental organization Two Sides, paper and paperboard now rank first in 9 out of 15 common packaging categories, outperforming glass (which ranks first in 4 categories) and far surpassing metal and plastic (each ranking first in only one category).
The survey also revealed that 75% of respondents prefer paper or paperboard packaging for its home compostability and biodegradability. Meanwhile, 53% of consumers believe paper is the most environmentally friendly packaging material, and 51% say paper and paperboard are the easiest to recycle. These figures have all increased since the 2021 survey, showing a strong upward trend toward paper-based packaging as the mainstream choice for sustainable consumption.
In the past, paper packaging was mostly used for shipping and protecting general goods — for example, using thick paperboard or corrugated paper to enhance strength and cushioning. However, with continuous advancements in papermaking and coating technologies, paper-based packaging has gone far beyond traditional uses. Today, Golden Paper is driving innovation in high-performance paper-based materials, turning paper into not just an alternative to plastic, but a functional and sustainable packaging solution.
Golden Paper’s Coated Kraft Back (CKB) is made from 100% virgin wood pulp and produced with advanced calendering and multi-layer coating technology. This gives the paperboard excellent stiffness, bursting strength, and resistance to compression. Its smooth and printable surface ensures vivid, high-quality graphics, while its strong inner structure prevents grease and moisture penetration. CKB is widely used for food boxes, takeaway containers, fruit boxes, cake boxes, and burger boxes, offering both durability and food safety.
Golden Paper’s cupstock paper uses special barrier coating technology that provides water, oil, and moisture resistance without relying on plastic film. Some grades feature water-based or biodegradable coatings, aligning with the global “plastic-free” trend. It is an ideal choice for hot and cold drink cups, ice cream cups, and takeaway beverage containers, delivering eco-friendly performance while maintaining excellent cup-forming capability.
For liquid packaging, Golden Paper’s Liquid Packaging Board combines multi-layer extrusion coating with heat-sealing technology to achieve outstanding sealing and barrier performance. It can withstand high-temperature filling and long-term storage, making it perfect for milk, juice, and other liquid food packaging. Furthermore, its structure allows for easy separation of paper fibers and coatings during recycling, improving recovery efficiency.
As global “plastic reduction” policies expand, paper-based packaging is becoming a key part of the green transformation. With strong production capacity, reliable quality control, and continuous innovation, Golden Paper is committed to providing sustainable paper packaging solutions for partners around the world.
Looking ahead, the packaging industry will continue moving toward eco-friendly, recyclable, and renewable materials. Paper and paperboard will play an even more vital role in sustainable development. Golden Paper will keep advancing eco-conscious paper materials to make green packaging the future of the industry.
